With more than 36 additional arrivals and departures recorded on Friday, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport was noisy throughout the day as India's corporate heavyweights landed at the airport with their business jets for the 6th Vibrant Gujarat Global Business Summit here.

Besides the pouring number of private jets also created chock-a-block as the airport officials were struggling to provide parking space for these aircraft till late in the evening. Sources said the parking lot at domestic area were packed with the jets which were somehow accommodated.

To avoid bird hits, the bird chasers were instructed to use all the measures to keep the stubborn birds at bay from colliding with the flights since 10 am. The airport was abuzz with the sounds of zone guns that creates automatic sounds to scare birds, firecrackers besides a dozen bird chasers in different shifts.

A total of 18 types of business jets landed at the airport including Falcon 2000, 9000 (Twin Engine, French Business jet), Airbus 319, Hawker Beechcraft, Beechcraft Super King, HS25 among others. The operators of these were Tata, Reliance, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, Bafna group, Welspun, Mahindra, Aditya Birla Group among others.

Along with the jets and more than 200 business delegates were hosted first at the airport before they were taken to the summit's venue in Gandhinagar. For smooth landing and take off special arrangements were made including a separate the security clearance.

To host the delegates as state guests the state government has deployed over a dozen officials including senior officers working as protocol officers. The airport authority has allowed the guests to reach their aircraft or schedule flights in special vehicles.
