  • As part of the animal welfare fortnight, an awareness-cum-animal welfare camp was organised on Saturday by Care of Animals and Protection of Environment (CAPE-India) in collaboration with the Punjab Animal Husbandry department.

Organised with the cooperation of Shri Ram Lila Committee at their cowshed, the camp was supervised by Deputy Director of the Ludhiana Animal husbandry department, Dr Joginder Singh.

Dr Sandeep K Jain, co-member of the Animal Welfare Board of India and chief coordinator, CAPE-India, said the camp was organised to create awareness among the public about the protection of rights and interests of animals.

The team headed by Dr Bhajan Singh of Hospital Tajpur administered the foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccine to about 70 animals.
