In a bid to resurrect and broad-base his anti-corruption movement, Anna Hazare is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with ex-servicemen, retired bureaucrats who are willing to work with him, several activists and volunteers during his two-day visit to Delhi beginning Sunday.

"On Sunday morning, Anna will meet activists who participated in the JP movement. In the evening,IAC volunteers from Delhi and NCR region will meet him. On Monday, a meeting of ex-armymen and retired IAS officials has been organised. Invites have been sent to nine former IAS officers, seven retired DGPs and about 50 ex-Armymen," said Datta Awari, one of Hazare's aides.

The volunteers that Hazare will meet mostly belong to splinter groups of India Against Corruption who broke away. Some of the members of the now disbanded IAC core committee like Sunilam and Medha Patkar are also expected to take part in the deliberations.

The meetings will also work out the contours of Hazare's new movement. More importantly, the question of which group retains the India Against Corruption (IAC) identity is also expected to be discussed.

"It is an important question as to what we will call ourselves, whether the movement remains IAC and the political party is christened something else, or whether they (the group led by Arvind Kejriwal) retain the IAC identity and we adopt a new name. We will try to get a sense of what people associated with the movement want to call it, but the final call rests with Anna. Many other issues about how to take the movement forward will also be discussed," said a source in Hazare's camp.

Delhi CM aide meets Anna

Days after Arvind Kejriwal protested against the Delhi government, Pawan Khera, political advisor to Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, went to Ralegan Siddhi for a meeting with Anna Hazare earlier this week. Though both sides denied the meeting, sources confirmed that Khera did indeed meet Hazare. While Hazare's aides in Ralegan Siddhi denied the meeting, sources in the Delhi CM's office confirmed the meeting.
