Another AMTS feeder bus catches fire

One more feeder bus of the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) caught fire in the city on Monday afternoon.

One more feeder bus of the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) caught fire in the city on Monday afternoon. The bus was passing from near Bhulabhai Park on the route number 300 (Maningar to Maninagar) when the incident occurred. No one was injured. Fire brigade officials said tyres of the bus caught fire due to excessively heated drums.

Deputy transport manager Yogesh Maitrak said the Tata bus was procured one and half years ago and thus,well within the warranty period. He said the parts will be changed and company officials will check the defect,if any.

Earlier,a bus of the same make had caught fire on the Nehru Bridge.
