A police officer said that the normal procedure involves contacting and coordinating with the local police to make the arrest. But in this case, during its enquiries the team chanced upon Jayanti. The policemen apprehended Jayanti and learnt that Dinesh, who was in possession of the loot, could be found in another village which falls on the way to police station. But before they could reach the village to nab Dinesh,Jayants relatives, friends and villagers attacked the policemen.
The three were brutally assaulted and to protect themselves from the mob. One of the officers fired shots in the air. The bullet hit one of the assailants leading to his death.
