Another Meerut man offered money to engineer blast

Six days after a Meerut businessman received an anonymous call from Iran in which the caller asked him to execute a blast for Rs 1 crore.

Six days after a Meerut businessman received an anonymous call from Iran in which the caller asked him to execute a blast for Rs 1 crore,another Meerut resident approached the police on Monday,claiming he had received similar calls. A resident of Inchauli area,Adil told the police that the caller asked him to execute a blast at Ghantaghar in Meerut and offered Rs 1.5 crore. On Adi’s complaint,the police have registered an FIR at Inchauli police station.

The Meerut police say these were international calls made using the internet. “We have registered a case and investigation is on,” said Meerut DIG Prem Prakash.

When contacted,Adil said: “The first call came on July 17. Two more calls came later.”

On July 14,Hashim Ilahi,a meat trader in Meerut,had received similar calls.
