After Samajwadi Party MPs Munnawar Hasan, Jai Prakash Rawat and Raj Narain Budhaulia revolting against the party whip, another MP from Jalesar SP Singh Baghel has come out openly against the party decision to back the UPA Government.
A Military Science professor and a three time MP from SP, Baghel confirmed that he would vote against the UPA on July 22.
“For the last four years, SP leaders had been criticising the UPA Government, I wonder what brought this sudden change of heart?” Baghel told The Sunday Express over the phone from Agra. He recalled how his party had taken out a foot-march in Delhi and the SP national president had spoken against the nuclear-deal in Parliament.
“If there were any amendments in the deal, the party had a reason to go ahead with it, but the deal is in its original form to which the party had opposed,” said Baghel. He pointed out that the SP had decided to back the UPA on the deal only to benefit a particular capitalist.
However, Baghel did not say if he would join some other party before the elections.
