Uttarakhand government has sent a letter on June 16 to the Centre recommending a CBI probe into Swami Nigamanand’s death.

36-year-old Swami Nigamanand, who also belonged to Matri Sadan Ashram was fasting against illegal mining in the river Ganges. He died on June 13,triggering a political blame game with Congress alleging that he had died of poisoning and BJP accusing it of “playing politics” over his death.
