Ansari says ‘turned on’ by power,IEDs a ‘passion’ on alleged Orkut account

His “passions”,he said on an Orkut account allegedly traced to him, were “explosives and electronic IEDs”.

“Intelligence”,“power”,“thrills” are what suspected 26/11 Mumbai attack handler Syed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal listed as his “turn ons”. His “passions”,he said on an Orkut account allegedly traced to him, were “explosives and electronic IEDs”.

Apart from this Orkut profile under the name ‘Aazam Khan’,investigating agencies are looking at a Facebook and YouTube account,a blog on wordpress as well as 10 e-mail accounts for a window into Ansari’s aggressive terror recruitment and the Lashkar-e-Toiba’s local activities as well as to determine his location at various stages.

In the Orkut profile allegedly created by Ansari,he says: “I am Muslim, but not Indian or Hindi Muslim, brother and sisters… no color… no community… no country… no boundary… no lies, should ever hold us from supporting each other… from backing up each other… Allah is our lord,Mohammad is our commander,Quran is our constitution, jihad is our path, shahadat is our desire, khilafat is our aim.”

As many as 75 people, including alleged Indian Mujahideen activist Rahil Shaikh, who is absconding, are listed as “friends” on this Orkut profile. Two albums uploaded in May and July 2008 on the account have pictures of desecrated Indian,US flags as well as the Star of David.

“We have asked for the login details of the accounts from the respective companies. This will help us establish where Ansari was at a certain point of time,to corroborate the case built against him in Mumbai. We have also got invaluable insights into the other people in India he was networking with, especially in areas like Beed,” a senior Mumbai Police officer said on condition of anonymity.

A blog titled ‘fidaeemission’ on wordpress, allegedly also started by Ansari, lists “39 ways to serve and participate in jihad”,including “make your intention for jihad”,“go for jihad yourself”,“make jihad with your wealth”,“help prepare the fighter who is going for jihad”,“collect funds for the mujahidin” and “hide the secrets of the mujahidin that the enemy can benefit from”.

The blog also has long essays dealing with the linguistic and legal interpretations of jihad, saying “jihad can only be performed in the field of al-Qitaal”,by literally fighting.

A YouTube account ‘DueToRevenge’ created on March 8,2008,is also being linked to Ansari. It has 26 jihadi videos, including a four-part series uploaded shortly after the 26/11 attack titled ‘Tazkiya Camp at Wadi e Faran Mumbra Mumbai’ which is purportedly a ‘Studio Presentation by Mujahideen Hyderabad Deccan’.

Incidentally,in the conversations between Lashkar handlers and the Pakistani gunmen in Mumbai that were intercepted by security agencies during 26/11,a man believed to be Ansari is heard instructing the terrorists at Nariman House in Colaba that they identify themselves as belonging to the Deccan Mujahideen while speaking to a television channel.

The Facebook profile allegedly used by Ansari was registered under the name Sameer Hasan in September 2010.

Of the 10 e-mail accounts Ansari operated at various stages,aazamkhan.ak47@gmail.com was the most frequently used. The others have been identified as singhisking68@yahoo.com,zoresabaja@yahoo.com,hameshaonline@yahoo.com,hameshaonline_44@yahoo.com,lalshah98@yahoo.com,jujuk42@yahoo.com,aashimhamsafar@yahoo.com,rahilcool@yahoo.com,and sameerhasanfareed@yahoo.com.

According to sources,Ansari also provided the email id hameshaonline@yahoo.com as the contact for the organisation Jamiyat-ul-Furqaan in Beed,Maharashtra, which he describes as a “mass-based Maharashtra Muslim organisation of Muslims all over world”. A politico-religious organisation of the same name was proscribed by Pakistan in November 2003.
