Noida Police arrested five persons and recovered an antique idol worth about Rs 5 crore from them.

Noida Police on Thursday arrested five persons and recovered an antique idol worth about Rs 5 crore from them. The Ashtadhatu (made from eight metal alloys) statue of a Nagkanya weighs 2.5 kgs. Police also seized two Indica cars from them. The kingpin of the racket,which smuggles rare artifacts to Europe,is absconding.

India has strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent military actions along the Afghan border, accusing Islamabad of sheltering and sponsoring terrorist organisations amid escalating tensions between the two neighbours. At a press briefing on Thursday, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also underlined New Delhi’s support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and independence.
