Applied Micro,a global leader in energy conscious computing and communications solutions,today announced a new design centre in Pune,to expand its development resources in IC design,system engineering and software development.

“AppliedMicro welcomes opportunities to expand its research and development efforts and attract the most talented engineers,” said Dr Paramesh Gopi, president and CEO of AppliedMicro. “The new India Design Center in Pune presents such an opportunity as the team will focus on chip and system development to enhance our efforts in the embedded computing market.”

AppliedMicro’s India design center will be operated by Pradeep Dharane,who brings more than 15-years experience in the industry,previously serving roles with top-tier companies. The team will initially consist of 40 of design engineers focusing on processor verification,SoC design and verification,software development,device driver development,and post-silicon validation activities.

“Visual networking is driving the exploding demand for increased network capacity but the future of data centers and communication systems will require aggressive power conservation measures,” Dharane said. “Pune is a relatively an untapped location for talented engineers with high quality students graduating from local universities. AppliedMicro is now well positioned to engage the local workforce to help build quality SoC,software and systems products that appeal to our energy-conscious customers.”
