Aravind,Trupti win titles

Second seed Aravind Bhat of BPCL and top seed Trupti Murgunde of IOC lifted the mens and womens singles titles respectively at the 29th PSPB Inter Unit Badminton Championships at the PYC Gymkhana Badminton courts on Sunday.

In the mens singles final,Aravind scored a 21-15,21-17 win over IOC’s Guru Sai Dutt while Pune girl Trupti overcame a second-game lapse to edge past Gayatri Vartak 21-17,18-21,22-20 and lift the womens singles crown.

Rupesh Kumar and V Diju of ONGC lifted the doubles crown after rallying from a game down to defeat the IOC pair of Jaseel Ismail and Marcos Bristow 17-21,21-15,21-14.

B R Meenakshi and Aparna Balan of IOC won the women’s doubles event,beating Ashwini Ponappa and Nitya Sosale of ONGC 21-16,21-13.
