A driver was seriously wounded on Monday after being shot at thrice during an armed robbery in Model Town, North Delhi.
The driver, Keshav, was shot at by unidentified assailants when he was taking out his employer’s briefcase, which had Rs 6 lakh, from the car.
According to the police, at 9.30 am Satyaprakash (55) and his two sons got off the car after reaching their office in Model Town. The driver, meanwhile, was in the process of taking out the briefcase from the car. “Just when he took out the briefcase, there were gunshots and he fell. There were four men who approached him and ran away with the briefcase,” said Sanjay Gupta, Satyaprakash’s son.
Keshav was shot at thrice — at his hand, abdomen and left hip. He was rushed to Parmamand Hospital.
Gupta, a government contractor, said he carried money to office usually on Mondays to make various payments.
