Students visit The Indian Express printing press
Panchkula: 150 children of the British School,Sector 8,visited the Indian Express printing press,in Sector 6 on Friday. The children were excited to see the big printing machines. They witnessed the different procedures of printing the newspaper. The children were surprised to see the number of copies which can be printed in minutes. They realised the hard work put in by the workers of the printing press.
Vigilance awareness week concludes
Chandigarh: The Northern Regional Office of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) concluded the vigilance awareness week on Friday. The week had begun on October 31. The week was celebrated on the theme Curbing Corruption through Participative Vigilance to sensitise,and devise strategies for public awareness. S K Rekhi,Assistant General Manager (Vigilance),HMT,Pinjore,gave details of steps taken at HMT for curbing corruption at all levels. Dev Samaj College of Education,Sector 45 in collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum observed Vigilance Awareness week from October 31 to November 5. On Friday,during the conclusion of the program Jyoti Khanna welcomed the chief guest M K Sharma Chief Manager,Vigilance,Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. During the weekly celebrations NSS volunteers conducted various competitions on different awareness topics including eradication of corruption and transparency in governance.
School marks Arya Samaj foundation year
Chandigarh: Marking the 14th foundation year of Arya Samaj Panchkula on Saturday,Hansraj Public School on Saturday held a hymn recital program in the campus. A havan was also organised in the evening.
