Private schools in Haryana go on strike

Ambala:On the call given by the Haryana Federation of Private Schools Welfare Association, the private schools remained closed in the state on the first day of a three-day strike on Monday. The association went on strike to press the Haryana government to exempt the private schools from Section 134A of the Right to Education Act under which the schools would have to provide facilities of remission of fee to impart free education to the wards of SC and poor people. The private schools have been expressing their helplessness to run their schools by giving such concessions. Federation president Kulbhushan Sharma claimed that barring a few aided private schools, all the private schools remained closed on the first day of the three day agitation on Monday. He also claimed that the private schools of Delhi and other neighbouring states have joined hands with the federation against Section 134A.

Two killed, one injured in road accident

Ambala:Two youths were killed and one injured when the bike on which they were riding met with a road accident near Grain Market, Barara last night. The three were going to their village after doing their jobs. When they reached near the market an unidentified four-wheeler hit the motorcycle, injuring all of them seriously. They were rushed to the hospital where two were declared brought dead and the third one was admitted for treatment. The killed were identified as Raj Kumar (19), a resident of village Foksi and Rohit (18), a resident of Alawalpur. The injured was identified as Gurdip who was admitted to MM Hospital, Mllana. All the youth were daily wage workers. Dead bodies of the deceased were handed over to their kin by the police

11-yr-old boy hangs himself while playing

Ambala:An 11-year-old boy died while playing at his home in a locality near Lepers Colony, Ambala City, on Monday evening. The deceased was identified as Ankush. According to sources, the parents of Ankush were not at home. Father Ram Ghulam works as a painter and his mother Ram Dulari was also outside. Ankush was playing with his four sisters and a few children from the neighbourhood. He tied his neck with a rope hanging from a wardrobe while playing. While tied with the rope, he fell down, which proved to be fatal. Other children started weeping and raised the alarm. Neighbourers gathered on listening the cries and rushed the boy to Civil Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. Ankush was a student of class III in a government school. The police was informed and the dead body was kept for postmortem.
