PGI to start an infectious diseases fellowship
Chandigarh:The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is soon going to start an Infectious Diseases Fellowship in PGI that would be a combined effort of clinicians and microbiologists of the institute. This was stated by the director of the institute Dr Y K Chawla during the one-day CME-cum-alumni meet organised by the department of Medical Microbiology, PGI, on Friday.
GMCH-32 workshop on molecular biology held
Chandigarh:The valedictory function of 'Hands-on training workshop on Molecular Biology and Cytogenetic Techniques' was held on Friday at the Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh. Dr Jatinder Kaur Arora, Additional Director, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology said that this two-weeks' workshop organised from December 3-15, was a joint endeavour of the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and Genetic Centre, Govt Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh and was organised with the support of the Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India.
Pvt schools sell 5,720 admission forms
Chandigarh:A total of 5720 forms were sold by the four city based private schools- St John's High School, Sector 26; Sacred Heart Senior Secondary High School, Sector 26; Carmel Convent School, Sector 9 and St Anne's Convent School, Sector 32 - for admissions to the entry level classes. Friday was the last day for the distribution of priced forms and December 15 is the last date for the submission of admission applications. However, St John's High School extended the last date for the submission of forms to December 18.
