German Embassy official’s house robbed
Four unknown and armed men committed a robbery at a German Embassy official’s residence on Tuesday. According to the police, the robbery was committed at 2.30 am on Tuesday and the four robbers escaped with jewellery worth over Rs 1 lakh and Rs 25 lakh in cash. The robbery was committed at D Dulce’s farmhouse residence, Silver Oaks in Vasant Kunj. According to the police, the robbers first attacked the watchman at the gate. They tied his hand and feet and locked him the guard shelter. They reportedly entered the house by breaking the window panes and woke up the residents of the house. They then ransacked the house, holding the family at gun point and ran away with the jewellery and cash. A case has been registered at Vasant Kunj police station.
Gang of laptop thieves busted
Delhi Police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked a gang of laptop thieves operating in National Capital Region with the arrest of five men. Vinayak (18), Ajay (21), Sarvan (19), Mukesh (20) and Murli (20), all residents of Chittur district in Andhra Pradesh, were caught from near Hotel Crown Plaza in New Friends Colony and Faridabad on October 31. “The gang was operating in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad. They were stealing laptops from parked cars after breaking the glasses by using rubber catapults and stones,” a senior police officer said. The police said they were looking for Sanju and Johni, the alleged kingpins of the gang and receivers of stolen laptops.
