NDPL to use Reva
NDPL announced on Monday the acquisition of the zero-polluting electric car Reva which has been inducted in the breakdown and maintenance fleet of vehicles in its network. “We plan to add more electric cars since they are pollution free and economically efficient,” an NDPL spokesperson said.

Fire averted in Janpath
A major fire was averted when a CNG pipeline caught fire in Central Delhi’s Janpath area. The incident took place near The Imperial Hotel around 1.30 am. “We received a call from the police and promptly reached the spot with 10 vehicles,” a fire official said.

Carmel basketball tournament
Carmel Convent School, Delhi, played host to five basketball teams of Carmel schools from November 5 to November 7. The participating schools were Carmel Convent Delhi, Providence Convent, Calicut, Carmel Chandigarh, St Joseph’s Convent, Hazaribagh, Carmel Convent, Gandhinagar and Carmel Convent, Lucknow. The semi finals will be held on November 6 and the finals on November 7.

Nursing home worker raped
A 24-year-old woman was raped in Neb Sarai in a case which came to light on Monday. The incident, which occurred on October 28, was reported on November 2. The woman works in a nursing home in Neb Sarai. Accused Mohit (25) is absconding.

Bajrangi aide in police custody
A city court on Thursday sent Iftikar Ahmed Sheikh, a close aide of gangster Munna Bajrangi, to police custody for nine days. Sheikh, who was arrested by the Special Cell was allegedly looking after the Bajrangi’s illegal operations in Mumbai.
