Guru Teg Bahadur Memorial to be unveiled soon: Sheila
NEW DELHI:More than seven years after it was conceptulised,the Guru Teg Bahadur Memorial at Singhu border along the GT Karnal highway,is set for inauguration. This was announced by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who visited the site on Saturday evening,with officials from the Tourism department. The cost of the project,which began in 2007, is Rs 25 crore.
Hassled by NRI,Census officer files complaint
NEW DELHI:A teacher on Census duty approached the Outer Delhi police on Sunday complaining about an argument with a house owner on Rohini-South area. According to the police,the teacher,Jaspreet went to the house of an NRI,Gurpreet,on Saturday evening. As she asked questions pertaining to the census,an argument broke out between the two. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Chayya Sharma said the NRI was called to the police station and a compromise was reached. No case has been lodged in the matter.
Students destroy hospital property,detained
Ghaziabad:Three students have been detained for allegedly destroying property of Shivam Hospital and pelting the building with stones. The students were reportedly upset after their friend Aakash Sharma,who was injured in an accident and admitted to the hospital,died. The students alleged negligence on the part of the hospital. The police,meanwhile,said no complaint has been received either from the family of the deceased or from the hospital.
