A part from creating a world-class art, Mystic Village Creative Art Club is also extending financial support to upcoming art students
Pune has often been called the cultural hub of Maharashtra, teeming with citizens who not only promote but also nourish and sustain genuine art as well as artists. Professor Shubhada Ramesh Bhosale has taken one such initiative by creating the Mystic Village Creative Art Club. An artist herself, she felt that while Pune is vibrant in the spheres of education, drama, dance and music, the field of fine arts, such as drawing painting and sculpture was comparatively neglected.
Hence arose the idea of an artists workshop that would be a haven for painters, sculptors and artists over the world to meet, exchange ideas and create art. The Mystic Village Artist Camp is located at Darawali, Paud, a 23-km ride from Pune City . Their latest artists workshop began last week and was open to international artists as well this year. Participating were Evariccoria Berj from Norway, Buddi Thapa from Nepal, Prem Sunyoto and Madhu Sunyoto from Australia. Among the 70 artists were noted artists from Pune such as Murli Lahoti, Raosaheb Gurav, and D S Khatavkar, as well as artists from Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, Ujjain, Karnataka and Hyderabad. "From Jammu to Banglore and Gujarat to Kolkata, we have covered art across the land," enthuses Professor Bhosale.
While the artists were immersed in their work the entire day, come evening and the fun began! From Brazilian fire dancers to folk song and dance from Dehradun, from a Sarod and Tabla performance to a relaxing evening listening to the senior citizen orchestra, the camp was truly a melting pot of art and culture.
