“Her condition is stable. We conducted two surgeries on the amputated leg to reduce the infection level. We applied the VAC device which will reduce the swelling, heal dead tissues and clean some infection,” the Trauma Centre head Dr M C Misra said.

VAC is a device having low intensity suction pipes which are attached to a wound to drain out infected fluid.

“By Monday we hope to see some results,” Misra said.

Arunima has also suffered fractures on her right leg and spine, and head injuries in the incident.
