Hot favourite Ashkan ran with great heart and made the mockery of his rivals and claimed the Nairn Cup-Division I (For horses rated 20 to 45), the feature event of the Mysore Races held on Wednesday.

The 3-year-old bay gelding, trained by Z Darashah and ridden by D Gnaneshwar, finished more than four lengths ahead of the second placed Demanding.
