Suspected members of ethnic militant outfit KLNLF on Monday exploded a bomb near a BSF camp at Jengpha in central Assam's Karbi Anglong district.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was scheduled to hold a poll rally in the district headquartes of Diphu which was cancelled on Sunday due to some unspecified reasons.

However, nobody was injured in the blast, official sources said.

Karbi Longri National Liberation Front (KLNLF) militants trigerred an improvised explosive device (IED) near a BSF camp as the paramilitary troops were out on patrolling in the streets, sources said.

Senior police officials have rushed to the spot and security has been tightened, sources added. LNLF has called 36-hour bandh in Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hills districts of Assam from 3 pm on Monday protesting the killing of its cadres by security forces and also issued "shoot-at-sight" orders for those defying the bandh call.
