The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shivraj V Patil, was 'At Home' with the residents of Punjab and Chandigarh on the lush green lawns of Punjab Raj Bhawan on the occasion of Republic Day.
The invitees from different walks of life converged on Punjab Raj Bhavan before the start of the ceremony to greet the Governor. The function began as the Punjab police band played the National Anthem.
Punjab Chief Minister, Dr Parkash Singh Badal and Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice AK Sikri, were the first to greet the Punjab Governor. Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha and Senior defence, civil and police officers of Punjab and Chandigarh Administration were also present at the function. Office bearers of all the political parties greeted the Governor on the occasion.
The Punjab Governor,Shivraj V Patil intermingled with the august gathering. He interacted with the freedom fighters, serving and retired army officers on this special day.
All the officials of the UT Administration and the mayor were present on the occasion.
