India captain Sardar Singh and Sandeep Singh, the drag-flicker currently out of favour, will have a base price of Rs 15 lakh each at the Hockey India League's auction to be held here on Sunday.
Sardar and Sandeep will have a reserve price of $27,800 each and are the players with highest base-price among the Indians as well as foreign players.
In all 246 players will be auctioned. Jamie Dwyer, the Australian captain and countryman Glenn Turner and Maritz Fuertse and Oliver Korn (Germany), Mohammad Imran and Mahmood Rashid (Pakistan), Pol Amat (Spain) all have a base price of Rs 13.5 lakh. Netherland's prolific penalty corner specialist Taeke Taekema and Teun De Nooijer are also in the same bracket which is equivalent to $25,000.
The base price for ex-captain Shivendra Singh and Gurbaj Singh is Rs 10 lakh. Ignace Tirkey and Tushar Khandekar have a base price of Rs 7.5 lakh.
Goal-keeper Bharat Chettri, who led India at the London Olympics carries a base price tag of Rs 10 lakh (approx) while goal-keeper PR Sreejesh comes at approximately Rs 7.5 lakh.
As of now, five bids for ownership of the franchises have been received while the HIL is planning a six-team league.
