  • The police have also got hold of fake identity cards used by the terrorists, bank account details, and photographs of all IM members saved by Atif in his laptop, the logo of the Indian Mujahideen, emails, inflammatory literature and CDs shown as part of indoctrination.

The Delhi Police, which registered five FIRs in the serial blasts case, arrested five IM members — Mohammad Saif, Zeeshan Ahmad, Zia-ur-Rehman, Saqib Nisar and Shakil — after the shooting incident at L-18, Batla House on September 19, in which Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma of the Special Cell was killed.

Of the five FIRs, four are expected to be clubbed in a collective chargesheet. These are the blasts in Karol Bagh, Connaught Place and Greater Kailash. The incident being left out of this chargesheet is the India Gate/ Tilak Marg incident since it is apparently not linked to these accused.

The Delhi Police claim that in Karol Bagh, Shakil planted a bomb in a three-wheeler; Zeeshan along with Sajid (he was killed in Batla House) planted a bomb in a dustbin on Barakhamba Road; Khalid (absconding) and Saif planted bombs in garbage bins outside Regal Cinema; Junaid (also absconding) and Atif planted bombs in the Greater Kailash-I market. Zia and Saqib Nisar are also likely to be named in the chargesheet as co-conspirators since they assisted in planting the explosives.

All the accused are to be charged under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 121 (waging or attempting to wage war against the Government of India), 121 A (conspiracy to commit offences under Sections 121), 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 427 (mischief causing damage), Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Explosives Substance Act and Sections 10, 12 and 13 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Blasts and Video clipsBy: Varinder | 10-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward Despite Blasts photos in the mobile of Terrorsit Atif of Batla House encounter, still Amar Singh and Co. may want an enquiry and demean the martyrdom of Inspector M.C.Sharma?Is politics of Vote Bank everything for Politicians?
Delhi, Ahmedbad, Jaipur blastsBy: Aravind | 10-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward Immediately hang all the politicians who had spoken for these goons. Our police and military are the only reliable institutions. We should reduce the security cover to the politicians and use these resources for over all security enhancement. Each and every Politician should bear the responsibility for the social make up and criminal free records of his/her supporters. Since the politicians are paid handsomely, they should also take the responsibiilty. Even though not related, each political paprty should be made accountable for damages caused by its negligence (during any strikes etc.)
Convict the Politicians Shielding HimBy: A Gokak | 10-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward Hang the politicians who are currently engaged in disinformation over the Batla House encounter! Hang Afzal Guru, and in future, shoot the convicts in custody instead of waiting for the seditious politicians or the corrupt judiciary. Ensure maximum security for the citizen, and not on convicts' human rights! Our only hope lies with the Police and the Military to protect and defend the peace of India and Indians!
good work by the cops, shame on our politiciansBy: vijay | 10-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward hope all this is going to be accepted by the courts
