Although the findings of the Justice Liberhan Commission were to the satisfaction of the Muslim outfits in general,the lack of strong recommendations by the probe panel and the inadequate action taken report tabled by the Centre has angered a major section of the leadership.

Having waited for 17 years,Muslim leaders said they expected the Commission to come out with some strong recommendations to back its conclusions. Many of them already disappointed over the clean chit given to Narasimha Rao are pinning their hopes on the legal battle on the title suit at the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court.

The Commission took 17 years to come up with its report. The people who have been indicted have enjoyed power and have become big leaders. They are influential and nothing can be done to them. We are looking forward to the legal battle for the title suit. We hope to get a verdict in our favour, said All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat chief Zafarul-Islam Khan.

All India Babri Masjid Action Committee convenor Zafaryab Jilani,the main plaintiff in the Babri Masjid title suit,felt the Commissions finding was on expected lines since the whole world knew who was behind the demolition. The CBI should now add charges against all those indicted on the basis of the Commissions report, he said.

Leaders like the All India Milli Councils Mohd Manzoor Alam feel that the Commissions recommendations bear no resemblance to the forthright conclusions made by it. While the findings are bold,its recommendations are mousy,he said. He wants the CBI to file a fresh chargesheet taking into considering the new facts and figures mentioned in the report.

He said the ATR,on the other hand,displays lack of political will (on the part of the UPA government) to bring those responsible to justice.
