* Booth prices fell from Rs 1.56 cr to Rs 66.25 lakh
* An SCF fetched Rs 6.3 cr, double its earlier rate
* SSS bids reduced from Rs 2.6 cr to Rs 2.53 crore
The coffers of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) swelled by Rs 6304.75 lakh on Tuesday after the sale of 33 freehold commercial sites in Mohali. GMADA’s earnings soared by 192.87 per cent against the reserve price of Rs 3268.97 lakh.
Six sites including two Shop-cum-Flats (SCFs) in Sector 64, two booths in Sector 56 and one booth each in Sector 59 and Sector 65 were, however, not auctioned due to inappropriate bids, said GMADA Estate Officer Sukhjeet Pal Singh.
A total of 39 commercial sites were auctioned, including one SCF in Sector 55, five SCFs in Sector 63, three SCFs in Sector 64, five booths in Sector 54, three booths in Sector 56, four booths in Sector 59, three booths in Sector 61, four booths in Sector 65 and five Single-Storeyed Shops (SSSs) in Sector 64.
While the prices of booths fell drastically from the previous high of Rs 1.56 crore to Rs 66.25 lakh, an SCF site fetched double its earlier rate (Rs 6.3 crore as compared to Rs 3 crore in GMADA’s May 28 and 29 auction). The bid for SSSs also reduced marginally — falling from the previous high of Rs 2.68 crore to Rs 2.53 crore.
The auction will continue on Wednesday with 24 residential sites, including three one-kanal sites in Sector 68, two in Sector 69, one each in Sector 63 and 65, one 17-marla site in Sector 68, three 16-marla sites in Sector 68, two 14-marla sites in Sector 67, one 12-marla site in Phase 3A, two 10-marla sites in Phase V, four 6-marla sites in Sector 68, two in Phase VI and two 4-marla sites in Phase VII, will go under the hammer.
