‘Aussie Fritzl raped daughter for 30 years’

The man was initially charged with 83 offences,most of which have been withdrawn by police. The Victorian now faces 13 charges – five of incest,five of rape,two of indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 16 and one of assault,The Age reported.

The daily said it understands that during an early court appearance the man indicated he would plead guilty to all 13 charges. He is due to appear in a Melbourne court in November. Victorian Premier John Brumby said he was “shocked” by the case.

“Any crime of this type is one that is shocking and that is personally repulsive to me and to other Victorians,” he said. “It’s a terrible case. It brings to all of us I think the worst possible thoughts about families and what might occur there and what may have occurred.”

The incident has rocked the state even as the Opposition planned to call for the resignation of Community Services Minister Lisa Neville.
