A 33-year-old Australian tourist was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel in Central Delhi.

A 33-year-old Australian tourist was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel in Central Delhi,police said.

Julian Stanford was found unconscious with froth coming out of his mouth in Hotel Express in Paharganj late last night and was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Stanford,who hails from Sydney,arrived in the country on April 4 and had been staying in the hotel since Friday.

He left the hotel room early on Sunday morning to see off his girlfriend who had a flight to Australia,police quoted hotel officials as saying.

The Aussie returned to the hotel later.

According to hotel officials,police said,the incident came to light when hotel staff opened his room after he did not reply to their knocking at the door.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
