"If collecting higher development charges is not possible, the state government should consider providing extra floor-space-index for commercial development along the alignment of these projects.
This way the MMRDA will get a share of the appreciation of property prices in the areas brought about by the transport projects and ensure a steady flow of revenue to finance more projects in the future," Asthana said.
