A special awareness drive was launched today to instill better behaviour and discipline among commuters inside the Metro trains and stations. About 30 volunteers of Metro Citizens Forum from different walks of life such as doctors, engineers, architects and college students travelled on the three operational routes of Delhi Metro. Vacating seats reserved for women and senior citizens was the main focus of the drive. The volunteers helped many women and senior citizens get seats. They counselled the commuters regarding vacating seats reserved for women, senior citizens and the physically challenged, a DMRC release said. It said the volunteers also requested the commuters not to play loud music inside the trains and helped them to queue up at the busy Rajiv Chowk Metro station. The volunteers also counselled commuters about keeping the trains and station premises clean. The Forum is an attempt by Delhi Metro to seek the cooperation of the masses in instilling better behaviour, etiquettes and discipline among the Metro commuters.
