With Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad currently in Moscow,the issue of extension of the term of Board of Governors (BoG) of the Medical Council of India (MCI),though on the Cabinet agenda for a meeting scheduled on Thursday,may not be taken up immediately. The ministry had brought in an ordinance in May last year before the Cabinet for superseding the MCI after its the then president was allegedly caught taking bribe. The six-member body includes Dr Devi Shetty,Prof Ranjit Roy Chaudhary,Dr Sita Naik and is headed by Dr S K Sarin. The tenure of the BoG ends on May 14.
