  • Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Chhatar Singh and Home Secretary Krishna Mohan, besides others are in the race for the post of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister (PSCM). The appointment will be made in a few days, said sources.

The new government in the state is slated to have a new Chief Secretary, besides and a new Chief Election Officer (CEO) of the state on November 1.

Chief Secretary Dharam Vir and CEO Sajjan Singh are retiring on October 31, while the PSCM M L Tayal has been appointed as Member Competition Commission of India at the Centre and will be relieved on October 30.

Speculation has been rife that Chhattar Singh may be the next PSCM. Chhatar has nearly five years experience in the Haryana government, and was on deputation at the Centre for seven years. The Hooda government can send a positive message to the Dalits by appointing their member as the PSCM. Other names making the rounds for the post are Finance Secretary Ajit Mohan Sharan, Education Secretary Rajan Gupta. Director Renewable Energy, Sumita Misra will take over charge as the next CEO.
