  • Over ten years ago, Mohit Chauhan crooned underwater to a lilting tune. Dooba Dooba was a surprise hit for Chauhan’s band, Silk Route. After an interval came Kuch khaas from Fashion and more recently, Masakali from Delhi 6 that has established Chauhan as a dependable musician. “My latest album Fitoor is an acoustic compilation of songs that delve into life, travel and longing,” says Chauhan of his nine song album. While the singer has composed all songs on the album, he has also played the harmonica, mandolin and the Xaphoon, which is a pocket saxophone of sorts, apart from his signature guitar that is often seen in his videos. “I’m not a trained musician I’ve learnt different instruments just by fiddling with them,” says Chauhan. Composing for films is a natural progression for him, but Chauhan is keeping his options open. “I’ve had more offers but nothing concrete.”
