This is a racy score again from the dependable Pritam, who dispenses with female voices again after Tum Mile last year. The best track is Krishna-URL’s Chaska, followed by KK’s Ayyashi and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan going full-on into rock in Fakeera. Benny Dayal’s title-track has riffs that sound familiar while Mohit Chauhan-Master Salim-Farhid’s Jingle jingle somehow does not work – the lyrics are quite predictable and the dull Indipop kind of held-back,closed-throat vocals do not help.

Ankur – Jannat
HOM Records-EMI,Rs 125
Indipop crested in the ‘90s with negligible exceptions in the last decade. Ankur Tewari’s album, though essentially acoustic,is nothing more than cluttered sounds that drown trite lyrics and Ankur’s vocals that have little punch, throw or soul.
The song that salvages the album in part is Bekhabar with Shaher mein also making it to average levels.
