  • Mohun Bagan Club has moved Fifa over the Bhaichung Bhutia issue. “We have sent a letter to Fifa giving details of our contract with Bhaichung and explaining the reason behind his suspension,” Mohun Bagan secretary Anjan Mitra said. Incidentally, Bagan had suspended Bhutia for six months without pay but the latter has been given an interim relief by the AIFF-appointed arbitrator Amarendra Sharan.

Meanwhile, Songsak Chaisamak, a defender from Thailand is expected to appear for the trial at the green-and-maroons on Thursday. If selected, the 26-year-old centreback, who was a part of Thai Port FC that won the Thai FA Cup recently, will be registered for the I-League under the Asian quota.
