A day after the Shiv Sena as well as senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde demanded the resignation of Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe,BJP state president Sudhir Mungantiwar said Bagwe should be stripped of his ministry.
If the charges against the minister are proved ,we as a party have demanded his resignation and we will follow it up with agitations,said Mungantiwar in his visit to Pune after taking on BJP state president, he said while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.
Defending his late announcement,he said that Munde had demanded the ministers resignation on Monday itself. Mundeji had already announced it and we maintain the same, he said. He further said that with the chief minister demanding a probe we will give the ministry some time before we take on grave agitations.
With the Ambernath Shiv Sena and MNS alliance doing rounds of a new alliance between BJP/SS and MNS,the state president steered clear of making any direct comment. We will see when it happens, he said.
Munde at a recent press interaction had clearly said that SS joining hands with MNS is a good move. Munde had said that the alliance would impact the states political scenario for a long time and would boost the saffron combine power in the state. Mungantiwars differences with the Sena on separate Vidarbha will not harm any equations in the party,he said.
He added the party has been demanding a separate Vidarbha as they have been in favour of smaller states as it expedites development and provides better administration. Whatever the Senas views are on this issue,it will not hamper our equations, he said. Ties with the Sena are based on several important national and regional issues and their stand on a unified Maharashtra is not going to hamper relations between the two parties,he said.
He also maintained that the party no longer has any factions as perceived,with Gadkari going on to become the partys national president. We all work for and belong to the same party, he said.
With Mungantiwar carrying out his contact drive in the state where he will be covering the seven divisional headquarters of his party as well as in the next month carry out the drive with the 33 district headquarters,he came down heavily on the Democratic Front government termin it a totally ineffective government that was not able to address any issues.
Whether it is the farmers suicides or the water shortage crisis or power crunch in the state,the government has been unable to address of any of these issues,he said.
From increasing unemployment in the state,the BJP would take up all these issues and work in a planned manner through agitations,he added.
