Congress is likely to forge an alliance with Sanjha Morch and BSP in Punjab, state party chief Partap Singh Bajwa said on Thursday. “Dialogue is going on with BSP at the national level and Congress is hopeful of a positive result,” he said here. On the issue of alliance with Sanjha Morcha — a conglomeration of Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP),the Left and SAD (Longowal) — Bajwa said he was seeking feedback from the lower ranks of the front to recommend the case to the party high command.

He exuded confidence that Congress was strong enough to win the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, which has 13 seats. “This time, the results of Lok Sabha polls would be in Congress’ favour as the people are fed up with the alliance government of SAD and BJP,especially for its failure to maintain law and order,” he said.
