Bangalore blast: ‘Missed call’ leads to suspects,3 held

The dealer in Vellore said he had sold the motorcycle for Rs 12,000

It was a missed call by one of the suspects from his cellphone that helped the police crack the April 17 Bangalore blast case and led to the arrest of three persons on Tuesday.

As reported by The Indian Express,the crucial leads in the investigation came from the engine number and chassis number of the motorcycle that was used in the blast. The joint team of the Bangalore police and Tamil Nadu police found that a second-hand dealer had sold the 1995-model TVS Suzuki motorcycle to a youth in Vellore a few weeks back.

The dealer in Vellore said he had sold the motorcycle for Rs 12,000. As identity proof,the youth gave a copy of his driving licence which was later found to be forged.

On being asked to furnish his cellphone number,the youth reportedly gave a missed call from his cellphone to the second-hand dealer.

This crucial lead helped the sleuths to crack the case and nab the suspects. However,the main perpetrators still continue to be at large, said an NIA official.

NIA said the trio arrested today will also be questioned in connection with the February 21 Hyderabad blasts.
