Controversial Congress leader Digvijay Singh who had demanded a judicial probe to verify the authenticity of Batla House encounter has tweeted a defence of his stated position on the case again.

Even as a Delhi court verdict came today,convicting Indian Mujahideen operative Shahzad Ahmad for killing Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma,Digvijay Singh tweeted that he was justified in demanding a judicial probe in the encounter case and that he still stands by his demand.

He however added that it is for the aggrieved party to appeal against the verdict.

BJP cites Digvijay,says Batla verdict slap on Congress’ face

Through the course of the case Digvijay Singh had continued to rake up a controversy calling Batla House encounter fake.

He also had demanded a judicial probe in the matter to verify its genuineness.

However,on a visit to Azamgarh,he had denied calling the encounter fake and defended himself by saying that he did not verify the authenticity of the case himself so he can’t comment.

Meanwhile,BJP has asked Digvijay to apologise for calling the encounter fake.
