Batla House case: Digvijay tweets defiance

Even as a Delhi court verdict came today,convicting Indian Mujahideen operative Shahzad Ahmad for killing Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma,Digvijay Singh tweeted that he was justified in demanding a judicial probe in the encounter case and that he still stands by his demand.

He however added that it is for the aggrieved party to appeal against the verdict.

Through the course of the case Digvijay Singh had continued to rake up a controversy calling Batla House encounter fake.

He also had demanded a judicial probe in the matter to verify its genuineness.

However,on a visit to Azamgarh,he had denied calling the encounter fake and defended himself by saying that he did not verify the authenticity of the case himself so he can’t comment.

Meanwhile,BJP has asked Digvijay to apologise for calling the encounter fake.

I had asked for a Judicial Enquiry into Batla encounter which I felt was fully justified but it was denied. I reiterate my earlier stand.

I respect the Judgement on Batla House. It is for the aggrieved party to either accept the verdict or go into appeal.
