Amid speculation about the close contest between members of the ruling Chirayu Amin Progressive Panel and the opposition panel led by Cecil William, the former swept the election for appointment of office-bearers of the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) held on June 26.

According to BCA election officials, Samarjitsinh Gaekwad and Sanjay Patel polled 1,024 and 892 votes and bagged the posts of vice-president, while Arun Gandhi was elected the treasurer. Sachin Dalvi with 937 votes and Snehal Parikh with 178 votes were elected as secretary. Gaekwad has also been elected as the vice-patron.

Elsewhere, Arun Gandhi, Bhupendra Patel, Parag Patel, Snehal Parikh and Sudhir Patel bagged the posts of managing committee (tournaments), while Amar Potliwala, Anant Indulkar, C R Mohite, Pranav Amin and Ravindra Hota have bagged the posts of managing committee (general).

Cassim M Unia, Jatin Wakil, Nandini Oza, Kamal Pandey, Kishore, Mukesh Amin have the bagged Press committee seats.
