The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) will call an extraordinary managing committee meeting to decide on the fate of the three members who had filed a petition against BCA functionaries for issuing free tickets of the India-Australia One Day International (ODI) to the ordinary members.
BCA vice-president Sanjay Patel told media persons that the sole intention of the members who took the legal route was to create hurdles in organising the ODI.
“They have tried to divide the members and create problems in the existing body. But we will not tolerate such initiatives, and will take appropriate action. We have already served show-cause notices to Mohan Karlekar, Vivek Dongre and Suhas Sapre who had filed the petitions against us,” said Patel.
He added: “There are chances that before the India-Australia ODI, we will call the managing committee meeting to decide on the course of disciplinary action against them.”
Patel said a caveat has been filed against the three members as part of the legal proceedings.
The Vadodara district court had last Saturday served notices to BCA president Chirayu Amin, vice-president Patel and six other officials for issuing free tickets to ordinary members. On Tuesday, the civil court rejected the application and allowed BCA to go ahead with the proceedings of the match.
At present, the BCA has a total of 1,575 members, but some of them had not paid their annual membership fee of Rs 50.
