The attacks unleashed by Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) against North Indians triggered violent protests in Bihar on Tuesday with students vandalising Patna railway station and disrupting movement of trains in Patna and Darbhanga.

Hundreds of examinees returning from Mumbai smashed the glass door of the main entrance of the railway station before forcing their way into the offices of the Station Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent where they damaged furniture, forcing the officers to flee for their lives, railway sources said.

Several other railway staff also fled the station which has been virtually besieged by the agitators, said Public Relations Officer of Danapur division R K Singh.

Superintendent of Railway Police, Patna, D N Gupta, who is camping at the station trying to persuade the agitators to call off their stir, said that the examinees complained about being beaten up by MNS activists who they alleged also looted their belongings.

Gupta, however, said no FIR has so far been lodged as the victims had not submitted any written complaint. Danapur Division PRO Singh said 19 trains, including 2141 Mumbai-Rajendra Nagar Express, 3237 Patna-Mathura Express, 2349 Pune-Patna Express, 3401 Bhagalpur-Danapur Intercity Express, 3287 Durg-Danapur Express and 6359 Patna-Kochi Express were stranded at several stations.

Why??By: Sandeep Jha | 22-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Why these cowards did vandalize Patna station. Rather they should have courage to beat to death the MNS goondaas. Bihar has limited resources. Bihari students must preserve it.
VandalsBy: Rajshree | 22-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward These students are also terrorists. They need to be booked under POTA and given strict punishment for threatening national security.
DECLARE THEM AS TERRORISTSBy: THDSINGH | 22-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Any organization or individuals engage in violence and injure or kill innocent citizens should be declared as terrorist. Government should take this as a challenge and declare all those involved in killing or making innocent citizens suffer should be declared as enemy of our freedom.
MNS Patna Shakha?By: Jayadevan | 22-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Are these goons trying to justify Raj Baaba's antics? At least the MNS goons dealt directly with the perceived cause of their grievances. What did Patna Railway Station staff and furniture have to do with their getting beaten up in Mumbai? Guilty by association? No wonder Biharis have a bad name.. they really work hard to earn it. whether it is molesting cultural troupes passing through or just desultory goondaism, you are the champs. Balasaheb and Co., pull up your socks! You have competition! In fact, you are now in second place! Samajhla ka?
racist IndiansBy: Kumar | 22-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Racist creatures like you should realize that we don't care for an image infront of racist Indians like you.
Lalu/amar/SoniaBy: jigna | 21-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Beat up Lalu and other polliticians for your plight for not doing enough for your state. Go beat up his children who get fake diplomas for not studying or attending college. Go kick the ass of Lalu for hoarding your money and taking bribes for jobs. We will be grateful if you can further your cause by releasing him off his chair so he doesn't run his motor mouth.
