Beating children in UK mosque: Probe on after arrest

Evidence shows comments directed against Hindus,Jews and Christians allegedly made by teachers at Darul Uloom school in Birmingham.

A spokeswoman of the Department of Education said Tuesday it was concerned by documentary evidence showing children as young as six being physically assaulted in a mosque,and would investigate further.

The police arrested a man in connection with alleged beatings at the mosque in Keighley,West Yorkshire after a Channel 4 programme,Lessons in Hate and Violence,aired Monday. It also showed footage of comments directed against Hindus,Jews and Christians allegedly made by teachers at Darul Uloom Islamic High School in Birmingham.

At Markazi Jamia Mosque,pupils as young as six and seven are seen on camera being kicked and beaten.
