Bedi wrote to me that Kejriwal NGO not handling funds properly: Anna

Team Anna members have kept away from Hazares Maharashtra tour.

Anna Hazare today said Team Anna member Kiran Bedi had written to him that funds were not being handled properly by Public Cause Research Foundation (PCRF) headed by fellow activist Arvind Kejriwal.

She (Bedi) has written an email to me saying that funds are not being handled properly in Arvinds NGO. I spoke to Arvind by phone and told him that this was wrong and must not happen henceforth, Hazare said.

He denied writing a letter to Kejriwal on this matter,though a letter with a signature similar to his and addressed to Kejriwal is being circulated among India Against Corruption volunteers.

This letter,dated March 3,reads: I have received an e-mail from Kiran Bediji. She has written that it is necessary that a budget of the PCRF be prepared. The budget should have details about how much we are going to spend on different things. The money being spent on the PCRF staff is a lot. The money has been donated by public,and we must spend it carefully.

It says that mere publication of an audit report is not sufficient,and as IAC trustees,core committee members should be informed even if only Rs 5 is spent.

Hazares aides said Kejriwal had met the veteran activist in Jalgaon. Team Anna members have kept away from Hazares Maharashtra tour which is being managed by his Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Andolan Nyas.
