Mangal Giri (52) from Beed district died of swine flu at KEM Hospital on Sunday. She had been suffering from fever with chills and a dry cough since August 24.
The victim,who was recently diagnosed as a diabetic patient,also had hypothyroidism and rheumatic arthritis.
According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) health officials,the victim was treated at various hospitals in Beed before being shifted to KEM in Pune.
She,however,succumbed to the virus and died of acute respiratory distress syndrome. This is the 44th swine flu death in PMC since January this year.
