  • “They set the house on fire. I could hear blasts from the cars and then smoke started filling the room where I was hiding... I opened the door only when people from the Congress office arrived, shouted out my name,” she said.

The FIR lodged at the Hussainganj police station does not name the group involved in the vandalism. The complaint by UPCC spokesperson Srivastava alleged that BSP MLA Jitendra Singh Babloo was among those who orchestrated the attack. The police, he said, took no action on his complaint.

ADG Brij Lal said: “Two separate FIRs cannot be lodged for one incident. The allegations in the complaint will be probed during investigation of the primary case.”

DGP Vikram Singh told The Indian Express: “An inquiry has been ordered to probe the response time of the police officials and their efficiency. Culprits involved in the incident will be booked at the earliest.”

UP DramaBy: Mohandas | 17-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward It will be shame on our contry if culprints are not punished and the police is not fixed in this case. Those who wear the badge IPS should know they owe it to the sacred constituion of India and the dignity of the common men. Better they resing and do somthing else if they cant.
Ms Rita bahuguna and her travailsBy: k.madhukar | 17-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward As a contrarion view, I think,Ms Rita bahuguna fully deserves what she is getting from UP Govt. There is this sycophantic culture in congress party. Whenever there is an adverse comment on gandhi family,a few of congress leaders get in to a competition of counter attack with harshest retorts ,to catch the attention of the high command to see how good they are in defending the gandhi family.Gandhi family was under attack from Ms Mayawati for some time, and Ms Rita grabbed this opportunity to prove herself as a good defender of gandhi family and went overboard in doing so.
commentBy: Subash | 17-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward So why dont the opposition party have their own private army to protect themselves in case of such deliberate(as claimed) inaction. Because blaming such incident on fanatic supporters of a party and letting it happen calls for such self preservative action by the opponents(who have the potential) of powerful people. No wonder to succeed the politicians need to have armies of cadres who act as musclemen if need be. Otherwise they are democratic protestors who tend to become unruly.
