  • Narayanan has already been holding discussions with Home Ministry officials and security agencies to ensure that the journey of the Olympic torch through India passes off without any unpleasant incident. In this regard, the government has ordered monitoring of all Tibetans in Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

The security arrangements at the Chinese embassy has also been increased with three additional companies of Delhi Police being deployed.

Assuring Bingguo that New Delhi would ensure safety of the Olympic torch, which travels to India on April 17, Narayanan wished the Beijing Olympic Games complete success.
