Attacking Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee for her "opposition" to Nano project, senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said West Bengal has been deprived of industrialisation and people will assess her politics.

"If Mamata Banerjee has succeeded in relocating Nano project from Bengal, people of Bengal should consider relocating her," Yechury told reporters in New Delhi.

He claimed that people of the state have been deprived of proper industrialisation and that youths of Bengal were denied of potential jobs due to relocation of the Nano project.

"All this goes to the sort of politics that the Trinamool Congress and its leader are playing. We have also appealed to people to look into it," he said.

Basic Development firstBy: Deb | 18-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward It seems people seems to forget 60% i.e. 600 milion people in India earns less than 1 dollar a day.All Yechurys,Mamtas,and the message writers should think about the basic development of poor people first..i.e Roads,Education,Food for all etc.Govt should be able to take action immediately.Uneven development cannot lead to industrialisation. In the western world we will not find anyone dying of hunger which may still be the case in India.With 60% people below poverty line, one Nano project will not be able to help India.It will obviously help a very few may be 0.001% of the population. We need to create the fundamentals for industrialistaion first i.e education,food for all,Roads,electricity and then the poor people will understand the benefits of industrialisation and no one like Mamta Banerjee can provoke poor farmers against industrialistaion.
